Your adults in Caspian are:

Mr Hull (Class Teacher) and Mrs Mortimer (Teaching Assistant)

Our School Council Representative is Kara and our Rights Respecting Representative is Maria.

We have many children who also volunteer to help at lunchtimes being ‘Buddies’ and sporting ambassadors which is lovely to see, demonstrating a real school, community feel.

Maths

In Maths we have completed our units on number recognition and place value.

We have then completed further units on the four principles of Maths; looking into Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.

Further units we have covered have included Fractions and we are soon to be moving onto Decimals and Percentages.

English

We really enjoyed reading about Annie Edson-Taylor and her heroic and brave events surrounding Niagara Falls in the Autumn term. This helped us develop our diary writing skills and building our recount style of writing.

In the Spring we have broadened our skillset to include the use of: fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and relative clauses while focusing on our story ‘The Monkey King’. The children seemed to have really enjoyed writing their own versions of this story which has been lovely to see.
